Steve Austin News Haul - Feb. 22, 2011

Some news reports are a few weeks old, but most are fairly recent.

Hangar 14 News

Steve Austin recently completed filming on Hangar 14, which features former UFC talent Keith Jardine in a supporting role. The movie centers on Los Angeles Police Department Swat Team members fighting two rival gangs in a three-way affair while trapped inside an abandoned hanger with nothing but blanks in their guns.

A Rock and Austin Rivalry Coming Soon?

Sources inside WWE hinted on Friday that tentative plans have been drawn up for The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin to appear together in the ring at WrestleMania 27 in Atlanta. Despite having already headlined three WrestleMania's together, the WWE Universe has been buzzing about a potential Rock and Austin confrontation given that both men have returned to the company in the past thirty days.

As it stands, however, The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin will not have a phsyical altercation. Instead, ideas are being toyed with that involve both men somehow "laying the smack down" on WWE CEO Vince McMahon.

Last Monday, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson returned to WWE programming on Monday Night Raw for the first time in seven years.

Only three weeks earlier, Stone Cold Steve Austin was announced as the new host of WWE Tough Enough, which premieres April 4th, the night after WrestleMania 27.

On Tuesday, Stone Cold Steve Austin tweeted: “it was great to see The Rock back on RAW tonight…helluva promo from an electrifying cat. great stuff heading into Mania.”

Steve Austin will all but certainly be on hand for WrestleMania 27 in Atlanta, Georgia if for no other reason that to promote the following night's premiere of WWE Tough Enough. And we already know that The Rock will be in Atlanta serving as the official host of WrestleMania 27. So while there are facts rather than rumors dictating the latest speculation that Austin and The Rock will be paired for an in-ring segment at WrestleMania, it still isn't clear exactly how the segment will unfold and what it will involve.

One thing is for certain, however. An electrifying and unforgettable WrestleMania moment is likely in the works.

Please weigh in with a thought or comment below regarding a possible friendly reunion between Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock.

JR Blog's on Austin Hosting "Tough Enough"

On Steve Austin Hosting Tough Enough: "Steve Austin is very excited about hosting the new season of Tough Enough. It will be interesting to see how much star power and expertise is put in place when the training staff is announced. My instincts say that Austin will have a strong team to help him with the trainees. This will be a great opportunity for Stone Cold to be Stone Cold and to re-engage his many fans on a weekly TV series of which I have great expectations for and will be watching and DVR'ing every week. I do not know the status of Tough Enough airing outside the USA for those that are asking."

Austin Comments on The Rock's Return

Austin commented on The Rock's return. Here's what he had to say:

Stone Cold Trends on Twitter

With The Rock making his comeback on tonight's RAW, Twitter became a hotbed of talk and trending topics. Along with The Rock and Dwayne Johnson as trending topics (along with Stephanie McMahon), Stone Cold's name appeared multiple times trending around the world! It's 1999 all over again - this time on Twitter!

SAW,com PSA... Well, Sort Of...

Okay... I seriously need to get to work on my websites - a lot of you have been asking about it. Steve will be hosting "Tough Enough" in April, and now that The Rock is back (FINALLY!), I will have to be possibly be updating my Facebook page (I don't have any plans on opening the Rock fansite back up), BUT that means updates on, so I promise after tomorrow, I will work on (even if I have to open it just for news and updates) and start working on getting R& a new layout, converting it to Wordpress, and updating there as well. I've just been a little busy with things. I am in the process of moving to a new state (Louisiana), finding a better job, dealing with a few health issues in the family & personally, among other things... I just want to say thank you for the continued support, and I will try my best to keep you all updated and working on the website. Thanks and feel free to submit anything or send me an e-mail. Thanks again!!!

Monday, February 7, 2011 Austin Talks "Tough Enough"

The announcement that “Stone Cold” Steve Austin would host WWE Tough Enough – premiering on USA Network April 4, the night after WrestleMania XXVII – elicited roars of excitement throughout the WWE Universe. It’s that kind of reaction which has the iconic six-time WWE Champion and WWE Hall of Famer relishing the idea of stepping into a new ring of WWE competition and picking up a WWE microphone once again. And the bottom line? As he told’s Joey Styles, Austin’s young Tough Enough charges will listen to every word he says. If they don’t, The Texas Rattlesnake has no problem going “Austin 3:16” on anyone who doesn’t pull their weight on WWE’s new reality series. Why did you decide to host Tough Enough?

AUSTIN: I was just excited about being a part of WWE again. I still watch WWE, and I’m excited to have input in making future stars in the business that I’ve loved since I was 7 years old. What are you looking for from the Tough Enough contestants?

AUSTIN: The name of the show is Tough Enough, but along with being “tough enough” to take the bumps, bruises and travel, you’ve got to know how to wrestle, how to talk and how to be charismatic. That being said, this show will be “tough enough,” as the name implies, and it will be physical. I am looking extremely forward to putting these young men and women through their paces. I will make sure they’re busting their asses in the ring with the trainers, and with me. Who trained you, and what part of your training do you want to pass along to the Tough Enough contestants?

AUSTIN: I broke in back in 1989. I was trained by “Gentleman” Chris Adams, and it was decent training. I learned the basics. I paid my dues. I want to see the contestants pay their dues. How is becoming a WWE Superstar today different than becoming a WWE Superstar when you did it?

Austin:There are only a couple of guys left in WWE who were around from the days of the regional territories. I came up through those territories. Back then, you had to scratch, fight and claw your way into the business. Some of these contestants have paid their dues and just not gotten a break. Some are just green. Regardless, we’ve got some fun and cool competitions. This is going to be a true competition to make one of these kids earn a WWE contract. What if one of the Tough Enough contestants disrespects you?

AUSTIN: I wouldn’t stand for that B.S. I paid my dues. I know more about WWE than anything else in my life. It’s just not gonna happen.
