JR Blog's About RAW GM

JR wrote a blog post in his blog about the speculation of Austin being the secret RAW general manager. Here's what he had to say:

We had dinner Friday night with Stone Cold and he never mentioned the RAW GM biz and if he had perhaps I would have tried harder to buy dinner as a means of trying to get back on the air on Monday nights. (That was humor so "Lighten Up, Francis.") I have no clue as to who will end up being revealed as the RAW GM but I'm enjoying the mystery. I think' that when its finally revealed that we will all likely be surprised, perhaps shocked, and it might not be who many of us have on our own list of viable candidates. I have received many emails asking who the secret GM is and I can't answer that question. Even if I knew, conclusively, why would anyone want me to spill the beans and spoil the surprise?

Austin as Possible Anonymous GM of RAW? Not Likely...

Last night WWE decided to play a little trick on it's viewers (especially us Steve Austin fans!). Giving us false hope to believe that our favorite beer guzzling, mud hole stumper was to return as general manager by using some of his well-known catchphrases such as "... and that's the bottom line, because the GM says so." and "If you want to see some action, gimme a Hell Yeah!".

Last night via Twitter Austin tweeted:

"Busy all day folks...working on a project to be shot in Vancouver in a few weeks....more details later...gonna hit the hay..good night".

JR's last blog post blog even backs this up.

And regarding RAW...

"I missed it but it sounds like It was an interesting RAW".

So, obviously from all of that, he's NOT the general manager. Sorry, as bad as we want it to be, it's not.

WWE has all rights to use Austin's catchphrases because they technically own the name "Stone Cold Steve Austin" and everything that goes with it.

BUT there is a great possibility that The Rock could be it (there's some hope there! He hasn't been guest host yet, and he did talk about doing something fun with the show at the beginning of the year - so this could be it!).

The BleacherReport.com has a great article on the whole thing.

News Haul: JR Blogs About UFC Weekend, Mentions Austin... + New Pic

Source: JR's Blog

JR blogged about last weekend's UFC events, here's what he had to say about Steve Austin (and The Rock):

Steve Austin and Rock had a meaningful visit in Brock's locker room and talked old times, their last match in Seattle at Wrestlemania including Dwayne watching a Stone Cold DVD recently where he enjoyed going back in the day.

Both WWE greats have new films to begin soon...Steve in Vancouver and Rock in Puerto Rico.

Both are still 'students of the game' of wrestling which was cool to discuss w/ them. They both had 'it' and never played a role in the squared circle yet attained success by being enhanced versions of themselves. Organic passion and instincts lead them to unparalleled success.

UFC 116 Highlights - 7/3/2010

First of all, congratulations to Brock Lesnar on his win!

Highlights Source: PWTorch.com

At last night's UFC 116 PPV in Las Vegas, Nev., after retaining his UFC Heavyweight Championship against the undefeated Shane Carwin (now 12-1), Brock Lesnar was congratulated at Octagon-side by "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and Bill Goldberg.

During the PPV the announcers pointed out "The Rock" Dwayne Johnson and Austin, who were not sitting together. Goldberg was not pointed out, although given that Goldberg was Lesnar's last opponent in WWE ring, it would have been a cool trivia note to mention.

UFC lead announcer Mike Goldberg, who was up for the lead announcing job on Raw and almost defected from UFC to MMA a few years ago, called Austin "Cold Stone" instead of "Stone Cold."

He got it right later in the night on a second mention.

When Lesnar celebrated his victory in the crowd, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross and former ECW owner Paul Heyman were also shown on-camera sitting ringside near Austin and Goldberg.

At the end of the PPV, UFC cameras showed Lesnar in his locker room embracing The Rock as part of his post-fight celebration.

- Dave Batista was there in attendance for the match as well.
